is it ok to use our “box room” as a nursery?

August 8th, 2010

Question by Lacie: is it ok to use our “box room” as a nursery?
since this baby is sort of a “surprise” (great one!!!) we are still only in our one bedroom apartment with a spare “box room” which at the moment is the study.

we have a decent size place and a huge private garden 5mins from my fiance’s work (he is a video game designer for Warner Bro’s) and the rent is unbelievable for the area! (we live where all the star football players live etc…) so the area is super safe and very pretty. so we dont want to move just yet. we could still live in this area with a 2 bed but probably without the garden and a little more rent (which is fine) but id rather stay put until the baby is a year old or so old and then understands the size of his room.
its a TINY room, it will fit the cotbed, set of drawers and a chair.
is this mean or does it not really matter since the baby has no idea and he is only little himself anyway?
yes it has a big window, its an old fashioned house so all the windows are huge! thats another reason i love the place, it has so much light

Best answer:

Does it have a window? If not, I wouldn’t recommend it (fire safety hazard if there’s no window).

Maybe you could invest in a pull-out couch and give the baby your room until you’re able to move to a bigger place.

Congrats on the new little one :)
