Can an apartment or mobilehome park refuse to rent the apartment or give space rental based on a CREDIT REPORT?

I was rejected for space rental at a mobile home park and the reason given was, “information based on a credit report.”
Is this legal? Can I sue the mobile home park?

You are entitled to get a copy of that credit report for free to see what they are talking about. There should be a phone number on the letter you received. However, if the credit report contains negative information, they are well within their rights to refuse you.

Absolutely they can refuse to rent to you. You are ALSO entitled to a free copy of your credit report within 30 days of being declined credit. Ask the rental agent which credit report they ran, then request your free copy.

Rent or Buy It the same.
They have all right to refuse.
Taking this to court would be a bad thing. Keep looking you’ll find a place.
If you have Money problem, go to Welfare.
I don’t know the detail since I never apply.

I’m not so hot on the rent thing so……

Of course they can reject you. the mobile home park is privately owned and the management represents the owner. What if you owned a property and someone who didn’t pay their rent wanted to rent from you? Would you take that risk? probably not.

Work on your credit like me.

I like and agree with everyones answers here so far, my concern is your mindset for saying “can I sue the mobile home park?” Thats just the wrong approach to anything. Change your mindset and change you will change your life. I promise

you cannot sue in this particular instance. you would be laughed out of court. after all, it’s not the mobile home park’s fault that you don’t have good credit. credit reports are predictors of risk. something in yours told them that you would be a poor credit risk. therefore, they rejected you. they have that right. i would get the free credit report and see what exactly is in there.
